We are pleased to announce Scott Blakeney as our new Executive Director

The Board of Directors at IKUS Life Enrichment Services is pleased to introduce Mr. Scott Blakeney as our new Executive Director. Scott has enjoyed a successful career in both for-profit and non-profit service, and for the last 15 years he has worked in the public sector for the state of Michigan.

Most recently Scott worked with the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to advance strategic priorities and systemic infrastructure, increase educational equity for all students, and direct multi-tier system supports with evidence-based practices and positive behavioral interventions along the continuum of supports.

Prior to joining the MDE, Scott led the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, a skilled nursing facility that provides physical and mental health services. Certified in Healthcare Administration, Scott speaks very highly of the dedicated professionals he worked shoulder-to-shoulder with to make dramatic improvements and implement modern practices, like patient-centered care and interdisciplinary teams. He still enjoys visiting the Home to see the men and women he had the privilege of serving.

Before leading the Home, Scott spent many years with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (formerly Community Health), as the director of statewide health policy and planning.

Scott lives in West Michigan, is married with five children and two grand children. He enjoys hiking, fishing, swimming, camping, music and art. He is eager to begin this new chapter in his career, and greatly appreciates the IKUS leadership team that oversaw camp operations during the interim period. Scott will begin October 8, 2018, so please join us in welcoming Scott to the IKUS family!
