For the past seven years, Megan has been part of the R.E.C. Connect family, creating friendships and making memories along the way.
When asked about her favorite R.E.C. Connect activities, she didn't hesitate:

Outside of R.E.C. Connect, Megan enjoys spending her free time coloring. But when we asked what R.E.C. Connect means to her, her answer says it all:
"R.E.C. Connect means spending time with friends, making new friends, and making memories."

R.E.C. Connect is one of the community programs funded through the Ottawa County Mental Health Millage, helping individuals build friendships, stay active, and experience the joy of belonging.
Since it was first approved by voters in 2016, the Mental Health Millage has helped expand community-based mental health services across Ottawa County. In addition to supporting social recreation programs like R.E.C. Connect, millage funding has strengthened crisis response services, expanded prevention and early intervention programs, increased access to treatment for residents of all ages, and supported long-term recovery. These local dollars help fill critical gaps that state and federal funding don't cover.
The Ottawa County Mental Health Millage will appear on the August 4, 2026 ballot for renewal.

🤝 Teamwork makes the dream work! 💙
Our Group CLS participants recently put their communication and problem-solving skills to the test during a fun teamwork challenge!
Working together, each team had to carefully maneuver a box using only ropes attached to the sides—all while keeping the balls inside and completing their objective. It took patience, encouragement, strategy, and plenty of teamwork to succeed!
Activities like these help build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and remind us that we're stronger when we work together. Way to go, Group CLS! 👏

What a busy and fun-filled time it has been for our Group CLS participants! 🎉
From getting creative while dyeing Easter eggs 🐣, to exploring the incredible Comic-Con exhibit at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, our group has been making memories all across West Michigan. We also enjoyed hands-on crafts at camp 🎨 and spent time discovering all that Holland Electric Park has to offer. ⚡🌳
Whether we're creating, exploring, learning, or simply spending time with friends, every adventure is an opportunity to build connections and have fun. We can't wait to see what our next outing brings!
