The camp canteen is running smoothly this summer thanks to the talented individuals from our Skill Building service! With assistance from their mentors, individuals in this program practice vocational experiences including customer service, stocking clothing and food items, and keep the canteen looking clean and organized for shoppers.
Visit our Skill Building page to learn more about this program.
Let’s give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Alain! By working with one of our job coaches, Alain has been successfully employed in the community for over 4 months! When asked what he likes about his job, Alain said, “I like working at [my workplace], because it’s satisfying to see a job from start to finish. I also really enjoy getting out into the community and being active in my life. The food is another big plus.” We are so proud of this young man, and his enthusiasm to work! Way to go, Alain!

With instruction from food service coordinator, Scott Andrews, our Skill Building program spent time in the garden this week, learning how to sow seeds and care for plants. Not only does the gardening provide benefits such as sensory exploration, reducing stress and giving individuals the ability to make improvements to the environment and the community, the produce and herbs will be utilized to provide a farm to table experience for various programs and services throughout the seasons.
A week ago we held a dedication ceremony with our long time friend and supporter, Kate Pew Wolters, along with many other friends, family and supporters for our new 18,000-square-foot Kate Pew Wolters Center at Indian Trails Camp. We cannot express how grateful we are for all the support in the planning and building of this incredible building for the past couple of years! Thank you, thank you!
